Welcome to the July edition of the NeurIPS monthly Newsletter!

The NeurIPS Newsletter keeps you updated on NeurIPS events, planning, feedback requests, and new initiatives. This edition focuses on NeurIPS 2025, happening in San Diego and for the first time, in Mexico City.

  1. NeurIPS Announces Second Physical Location in Mexico City

Great news! NeurIPS 2025 will feature a second physical location in Mexico City, alongside San Diego. This pilot program aims to boost accessibility and research exchange, especially on geographic distribution. Mexico City will host around 500 attendees, mirroring San Diego’s programming. More details are coming soon.

  1. NeurIPS Announces Support for Newly Developing Scientific Community Gathering

NeurIPS is fostering a new AI research meeting: EurIPS in Copenhagen. We’re providing formal support this year, allowing NeurIPS-accepted papers to also present a second time at EurIPS and helping to facilitate registration. We’re excited to continue to promote scientific communication on a global scale. Accepted authors must still plan to present at NeurIPS San Diego or NeurIPS Mexico City. Find out more at EurIPS.cc.

  1. NeurIPS 2025 Call For Educational Materials

Submit short, engaging educational materials for the AI Education Resource Showcase at the NeurIPS 2025 One-Day Event on AI Education. We’re looking for content that introduces AI to non-expert audiences (e.g., high school students, general public) in formats like videos, slides, or interactive demos. Materials should be concise (5–15 min), clear, accurate, and previously unpublished. The submission deadline is August 15, 2025. Accepted materials will be featured at the event and online. NeurIPS Announces Second Physical Location in Mexico City

We are excited to announce an expansion of the reach and accessibility of the conference! 

For the first time, in 2025, NeurIPS will host a second official physical location for the conference. The conference will be held at the San Diego Convention Center and in Mexico City. 

This pilot program of  a second official location will allow us  to continue supporting exchange and communication across the field of AI research while responding to skyrocketing attendance and difficulties in obtaining travel visas some attendees have experienced in the past few years when only one location was available. 

The Mexico City location will host approximately five hundred attendees. Programming for the main conference will mirror that which is taking place in San Diego. NeurIPS hopes to support programming for the workshops and tutorials that have been accepted for the 2025 program to also appear in Mexico City.

Authors whose work has been accepted to the conference but are unable to travel to San Diego will be given priority for attendance in Mexico City. We hope that by providing two options for in person attendance we can relieve some of the burden of travel while promoting scientific exchange. 

As we get closer to December, more details about programming, logistics, and attendance at all NeurIPS locations will be available.

NeurIPS Announces Support for Newly Developing Scientific Community Gathering

We are excited to announce that NeurIPS is helping to foster the creation of a new meeting in the AI research community. 

NeurIPS is endorsing EurIPS, a meeting taking place in Copenhagen this year. While independent meetings like EurIPS have been organized by community members in the past, this year NeurIPS is experimenting with providing one with more formal support. Papers accepted at NeurIPS will have the opportunity to additionally present at EurIPS should they choose to. Authors can indicate interest in this at time of paper acceptance. Additionally, NeurIPS will be assisting EurIPS in collecting registration fees on our website. 

Supporting EurIPS is part of our broader effort to expand the reach and accessibility of NeurIPS content globally. This initiative is part of a series of experiments NeurIPS is rolling out this year towards this goal. Note that accepted authors should still plan to present their papers at NeurIPS, with an additional presentation at EurIPS if desired.
