Announcing the NeurIPS 2022 Expo Call

We are very excited to announce that the 2022 NeurIPS exhibitor portal is now open! We look forward to your submissions. The EXPO is a great opportunity for industry participants to engage with the science community and vice versa. The EXPO will take place on Monday, November 28th,, 2022. In this post, we would like to outline some of our goals and considerations for this year.

A Call to Non-Profits

For 2022, we want to reach out to charities, non-profit organizations, and ML foundations and encourage them to apply to be part of the EXPO. Participation from organizations that focus on transdisciplinary domains and/or on AI/ML ideas and research being developed for social good offer a unique perspective to our research community. We hope that our EXPO will be a great opportunity in fostering the exchange of research advances in AI/ML, particularly towards furthering public, environmental, and societal benefits. Just like the NeurIPS 2020 Expo, non-profit organizations applying will need to provide evidence of not-for-profit status and statements of public interest and purpose.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

We want to highlight the importance of supporting a diverse and inclusive community. An important use of those funds is the support of the next generation of AI researchers who need financial assistance in order to participate in the conference. This year we have reduced the exhibitor costs to facilitate inclusive and diverse participation of the exhibitor community. In addition, 50% of the exhibitor funds are directed to the Next Generation Outreach program that supports travel and registration costs for those in financial need, particularly graduate students and DEI affinity groups. We look forward to any additional information each proposal might provide on how their Expo participation plans will enhance our collective DEI commitments.
